Withdrawal and Deferral Policy

Refers to: Refund Procedure Information (Links to Financial Management Policy & Procedure of Inspire & Learn)

This policy relates to students enrolled in all the qualifications enrolled with Inspire and Learn RTO.

Withdrawing from a Course

If a student wishes to withdraw from their entire course they need to understand the refund procedure.

Requests for withdrawal must be in writing. Students can withdraw from their enrolment for a qualification they are enrolled with by sending an email to info@inspireandlearn.edu.au stating their reasons for wanting to withdraw.

After the cooling off period and the student is on a special fee promotion offer there are no fee refunds or re-crediting of fees.

Deferment from a Course :

Deferment will be accepted if the student has clearly provided evidence of Special Circumstances where, due to unforeseen circumstances, they can no longer study for a certain period of time as long as it falls within the course completion period.

Special Circumstances :

INSPIRE & LEARN will review a student's enrolment and their request for withdrawal in cases of special circumstances.

Special circumstances include:

• Medical circumstances: where a student’s medical condition has changed to such an extent that he or she is unable attend face to face classes and/or study online, or

• Family/Personal circumstances: for example, death or severe medical problems within a family, or unforeseen family financial difficulties, so that it is unreasonable to expect a student to attend and/or study online

Evidence sufficient for a special circumstances shall include (but is not limited to) the following:

• In respect to medical circumstances, the provision of a medical certificate from a medical practitioner

• In respect to family/personal circumstances, a written letter with supporting documents, and where family medical problems are cited, a copy of a medical certificate from a medical practitioner

INSPIRE & LEARN will be satisfied that a student’s circumstances are beyond the student’s control if a situation occurs that a reasonable person would consider is not due to the person’s action or inaction, either direct or indirect, and for which the student is not responsible. The situation must be unusual, uncommon or abnormal.

Each review will be examined and determined on its merits by considering a student’s condition together with independent supporting documentation substantiating the reason of deferment.
